What we love about Magic Valley
Prior to moving to our current address, we had an (unnamed company) for our power supplier. We had a 1200 square foot apartment and our electric bill was averaging around $200. What used to bother me the most was you could not pay your bill online. For such a large company, I could not understand why that was so. Eventually, they provided a way to pay online. However, they charged $2.95 per payment. Why does a company charge money to make payments online? It cost them less to process an electronic payment then it does a paper payment.
Anyways, we moved and switched to Magic Valley Coop. I had to pay a $280 deposit due to me not paying (unnamed company) on time. That was my fault for past payment history. No complaints here. The price per kWh is under 10 cents. Where as, the cost for (unknown company) is over 16 cents. That was a savings right away. In addition, I started to notice that the company was paying me interest on the deposit I had given them on a quarterly basis. The last quarter I was given $7 interest on my $280.
In addition, to the money saved, the service has been great. We had our power go out due to a tree hitting a power line down the street from our house. I called Magic Valley to report it. There was only voicemail at 7:00 in the morning. So, I left a message. I left the house 40 minutes later thinking it would be a few hours before they showed up. While I was driving a way, I saw the Magic Valley truck coming to fix it. By the time I came back later that morning, it was fixed.
When I first signed up with Magic Valley, they had told me that I would be eligible for a refund of my deposit if I was not late for one year. It has been 13 months since we started our service with Magic Valley. Upon going to their website for contact information about my credit, I discovered that they had already credit my account for the entire amount. Now that is good customer service.
