Stars Drive-In

According to an anonymous source, employee at Stars Drive-in, their District Manager, Jaime Carbajal, is insisting they deep fry their hot dogs instead of steaming them as they have in the past. When asked why they were doing this, our source said, they did not know why this was happening just that it’s coming from the corporate office.

In an age where everyone is trying to eat healthier and watching their weight, I’m surprised at this tactic. Hotdogs are the bottom of pile when it comes to traditional meat anyways. Now, they want to add a couple of thousand calories per hotdog? This is ludicrous.
“I would like to order the heart attack on a bun please and don’t forget that nasty smelling chili your vendor has been sending you recently.”

While we are on the subject, let us point out the wording on the menu which says made with 100% all American beef. Where this might be true, it is made with 100% all American beef. It is also made with 100% soybean substitute. It’s only 5 to 10% soybean, but why hide it?

Fried?

Fried hot dogs? The only places that do that are carnivals and such.
I, agree...give the consumer an alternative, but let us know what we're getting to begin with!

Stars Drive -In on fried hotdogs
by: Anonymous

I hate to see Stars going to the fried hotdogs
I like grilled or steamed. I agree that the fried hotdog is going to far. Not at all healthy when we are told by health professional keep away from fried foods. On the hand some people only like fried food and do not care about their health. I would suggest you give the customer a choice.
