| Interview with Ozzie Lozza of Ozzie Lozza Productions. Tell us about your background in Music and Video productions. I started acting at a very young age. I was probably about 3 or 4 years old but never got serious until later in life. I was a good artist and that I believe gave me an edge. I studied applied Arts, 3-D animation and special effects in a private university and a community collage in Dallas Texas. After that I decided I wanted to be a filmmaker and I wanted to act so I thought, to able to be in movies, what better way than making my own productions. It wasn't like I jumped right into it either. It took some time working in different odd jobs until I got hired to work for a company in Dallas that makes Christian Hispanic movies. Then after a while I started knowing more and more people in that line of industry I began to network and know enough about the business to be able to get hired on different areas if needed so. Now as for music, I love music and can play a few of my own songs in the guitar, but I am not all that of a master. To some that don't know much about music, I might be- but there is no comparison when it comes to our music Composer, Audio Engineer, and Artist “Rikmore”, music is his background Why have you decided to start a music and video production company in the Rio Grande Valley? There is no reason why there shouldn't be a film a music production company here. I always wanted to act in movies and I grew up here. There is a-lot of talent here and everybody that wants this has to move far away in order to pursue their dream. Texas is in the middle of the US and we should have something here. East coast, West coast I hear it all the time in songs and in the news, but now there will be a Gulf coast lol. People in the valley want this to happen, I can tell just by how excited they get when I tell them about what we are doing and will do at Ozzie Lozza Productions. The Rio Grande Is full of amazing Talent, We are will work hard to expose them to the world. What is the largest project you ever worked on? What did you learn from it? The largest project I ever worked on was a TV pilot called HAVOC. It was made in Los Angeles in a 90,000 sq. ft. studio. I was the executive producer and it was a great experience. It was a big production, we had two red cameras, lighting equipment, sets, stunt coordinators, special effects artists, explosions, rain, and all that you can imagine it was great. The thing that I learned was that you can do what ever you want when ever you want like raise money so quick and so fast even when all odds are against you. We went to LA without any money and the production was scheduled to start. On our way over there we were getting calls like crazy from the producers asking to deposit funds but we had nothing. But I had faith that the money was coming somehow from somewhere and it did. We ended up getting more than enough to finish the production. It's all in the wanting to do it and not losing your faith. A very valuable lesson. What are your current projects? Are you looking people for those projects? How can someone get involved? Our current project is an in-house music video production. We had a casting for it this week and are filming this weekend. In the future we will be needing more people to help us produce and actors to participate in music, music videos, commercials and movies. If anybody out there is interested in what we do they can contact us through our website and send us a message. Other ways to get involved will be when we start pre-production on a movie, we will be looking for executive producers, investors, sponsors, products for product placement, and promoters. This is a good way to help fund a production and in return there is exposure in the film for products and sponsors, for investors they will own part of the movie itself. Tell us about the school you’ll be starting. The film-making Workshop is not a school yet, but it is an intense workshop. We will have an instructor that will go through a lot of information in a small amount of time, six weeks to be exact and a two week production. He will be teaching only great film-making lessons with no English, math nor reading and writing. The workshop will be focused on how to make a film and some acting skills. All participating members, during the last two weeks will get hands on experience in a full feature film as part of their training, meaning they will get production credits for that film. For those who like to act, well guess what? Members will have casting privileges and get first choice to parts as extras, featured extras, principal actors and even supporting actors, and if they are really good and fit the part we might consider them for a main roll. That is a great deal. That's not all, at the end of production we will throw a wrap up party and one lucky student gets his tuition back in a drawing that will be held during that party! But we only have room for 50 students and that's it, no more for this year. So they must act quick if this is something for them! What should people know before deciding to work in video and music production? It's not an easy thing to do but it is very rewarding! The only thing that I can say is be prepared and know your stuff because you will enter a very hard line of work that is not as easy as it sounds. What is your vision for your company in the next 10 years? I want the company to be making a minimum of ten big projects a year. The company has to have a big studio in order to make the films that we want to do, so that's on the agenda- a huge studio. I am wishful that we won't be the only company here making movies, that others will join our dream down the line. So valley commissioners and government officials, help us grow!!! Is there anything else you would like to tell our readers at www.rgvpride.com? Hey guys never give up your dreams, they can come true- just be consistent and be grateful. Oh and help spread the word about the Film-making Workshop at Ozzie Lozza Productions.
