MBBJA is the first Brazilian Jiu-JItsu school in the McAllen area. It opened to the public on October 2, 2006 and is growing strong. We specialize in the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu self-defense and Gracie method of teaching. Our Head instructor Pat "Hawk" Hardy is a red stripe black belt under legendary UFC fighter Royce Gracie. Our assistant instructor is a very good purple belt under Pat hardy. We teach individuals the importance of knowing how-to neutralize an aggressive attack and take the fight to a comfort zone, whether a good clinch or taking the fight to the ground, so that the student can defend themselves effectively. Once we arm the student with the tools (good understanding of using leverage, position, transition, set up, etc), then they develop CONFIDENCE. Our kids program is the best. One way to know if you found the right school is to see the "fruits" of the school. How many national champions? or how many state champions?
