Logan’s – Harlingen

I’ve always like Logan’s. When I was in the service, I would always want to eat at Logan’s when I was back in the valley.  They opened up a new branch in Harlingen a while back. However, knowing Harlingen service and standards with the food industry I had hesitated in going. I did go yesterday.

It’s hard to comment on the cleanliness of the place since there are peanut shells all over the floor. Don’t get me wrong this is not a negative. Peanuts shells being thrown on the floor is one of their trademarks and we enjoy doing it before the meal comes.  The bathroom was also clean on this visit.

The service was mediocre. The waitress did not show up at our table right away, but she did come within 5 minutes. Someone should teach her to smile. Our glasses were refilled twice during the hour we were at the restaurant, which is fine, because our drinks never emptied.  My only complaints about the wait staff was the lack of surprise when I found a bug in my drink. Unfortunately, I had already taken a drink out of it before I noticed. Yuk. In addition, there was a point where there were 7 members of the wait staff at the front desk. Maybe they were having a meeting, but it didn’t look like it. My cousin who was with me stated, “That’s just typical Harlingen service. If you go to Applebee’s or Chili’s you would see the same thing.”

We ordered hamburgers and they took 30 minutes to deliver them. This was at 1:30 in the afternoon and they were not busy. The food was warm but not hot. I ordered my hamburger to be medium and received one medium well. $8.99 for a fancy Cheese burger and fries is too much for the quality of food and service.
