I am a businessman and a community servant. I am not a professional politician. I have enjoyed years of dedicated public service and giving back to the community. When I served as your county judge, my leadership mandate was to focus my attention on healthcare, drainage and transportation, tax appraisals and our legal system. We displayed fiscal responsibility with our tax dollars, and I left the office with an unprecedented budget surplus. Our county was in the best financial condition in its 153-year history. I am committed to doing what’s best for us and the county. I intend to improve and sustain the healthcare needs of our indigent population. I will see that we continue to modify and enhance our infrastructure system so that we can compete effectively and attract much needed investment, industry and jobs. Sixty percent of the county’s budget is devoted to law enforcement and our legal system. As an attorney for over 37 years, I believe that I am qualified to address the needs to provide a quality judicial system. I also intend to focus on fair and equitable tax appraisals for all of us.
