Texas State Technical College Harlingen will sponsor the 2010 Wealth of Health Fair at the TSTC Cultural Arts Center from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. November 18.

Admission is free and the public is invited to take advantage of free screenings for diabetes, blood pressure, dental hygiene, occupational and speech therapy, hearing and bone density. Some screenings and immunizations will require a fee; those who plan on glucose and cholesterol tests must fast for eight hours prior to the screenings. More than 30 exhibitors will provide free information about topics such as mental health, stress management and poison prevention. There will be door prizes!

Four TSTC programs – Nurse Assistant, Medical Assistant, Dental Hygiene and Wellness & Sports Center – will be among the exhibitors. Some of the prominent health and medical industry participants will include the Regional Academic Health Center, Harlingen Medical Center, Valley Baptist Health System, H-E-B, and South Texas Rehab Hospital. For more information contact TSTC Medical Assistant Chairwoman Jean Lashbrook at 800.852.8784, ext. 4797, 956.364.4797 or jean.lashbrook@harlingen.tstc.edu.
