Harlingen Red Light Cameras

Harlingen was the first city in the Rio Grande Valley to put up Red Light Cameras with other cities following suit. Harlingen started with 5 intersections. In the first month the cameras caught over 800 people running red lights. Lucky for some drivers, the first 30 days were free. Now they are mailing out tickets for $75. I’m sure, that once word gets around, the number of red lights being run will decrease (at least at those intersections). At each intersection that currently has a camera, there is a sign stating there is a camera in use. I for one agree with the cities decision to place these cameras at intersections.

Here is a list of cameras I have found, so far.

Locations of Red Light Cameras:

Tyler and Frontage Rd.

Harrison and Frontage Rd.

Ed Carrey and business 77.

Lincoln Ave and Frontage Rd.

If you know of any other Red Light Cameras in the Valley, please notify us by accessing our Contact us Page.

Update: In the month of May, the city of Harlingen has sent out over 3,000 violation caught on camera.
