“Loaded Ladies”
Dias Festivos Marketplace 2007 will start with a bang on the evening
of
Thursday, November 29th.
At 5:30pm, the McAllen Chamber of Commerce will be cutting the
ribbon on our move to the McAllen Convention Center. At
6pm,
the doors will open for our new event – a
Ladies Night Out!
The event, “Loaded Ladies” (come loaded with cash), will feature
true preview shopping, shopping contests, complimentary champagne
and strawberries, a cash martini bar, and live entertainment by the
Kim Snyder Trio. Tickets are available for the introductory price
of $20 and, this year, the ticket will serve as your weekend
shopping pass by granting you access to the marketplace from
Thursday through Sunday. Come have a blast!
“Dressed to Kill”
Sip
a mimosa while models strut their stuff on the catwalk at this
year’s Style Show & Brunch on Friday, November 30th
starting at 9am. The always-sold-out event will feature
ladies’ fashion by Jones & Jones and Sylvia’s, children’s fashions
by Jessica’s, and maternity wear by Pickles & Ice Cream. Tickets
for “Dressed to Kill” must be purchased in advance ($40) and
reserved seating ($50) and reserved tables ($500) are available by
calling 956-682-0071.
“Camo
and Carats”
Dias
Festivos Marketplace and all of its special events are designed to
raise funds for the children of our community. The climax of our
special events lineup is a Gala & Auction, “Camo and Carats”,
to be held on Friday, November 30th. Purchase a
ticket ($75), put on your biggest diamonds, and come enjoy a
delicious buffet dinner while you tap your toes to the music of
Route 66 and their talented steel guitarist. Silent, blackboard and
live auction will all feature fabulous items such as: Invisalign
Braces by Dr. Freels, a Las Vegas vacation, Lasik Eye Surgery by Dr.
Pena, a children’s playhouse, a South Padre Island weekend, a Mardi
Gras trip, private parties, advertising packages, and one adorable
puppy! Doors open at 7pm.
“Ready, Aim, Shop”
Do
all of your shopping in one place this holiday season as over 100
merchants gather under one roof for Dias Festivos Marketplace 2007.
Don’t miss the Children’s Tree as you enter the marketplace -
featuring half price gift certificates redeemable at all of the
booths of our fabulous merchants. There are going to be some
special happenings at the marketplace this year! Booth #16 is where
you’ll find soap star Kristian Alfonso who plays “Hope” on Days of
Lives during shopping hours on Saturday and Sunday. She’ll be
showcasing her jewelry collection. Get your holiday photo this year
at Courtney Egan Photography in booth #32. Stop by during the Gala
& Auction while dressed in your finest or bring the kids by during
shopping days for a family portrait. The Etiquette and Leadership
Academy is offering classes, for girls and boys ages 4 to 11, at
booth #15. The classes are 1½ hours long (plenty of time to shop)
and include a tea with bite-sized sandwiches, scones or crumpets,
pastries, a goody bag, and craft activity. Shopping hours are
Friday 12-6, Saturday 9-6 and Sunday 11-5.
