'College Goal Sunday' Offers Financial Aid Advice
College-bound students – no matter where they will enroll – and existing Texas State Technical College Harlingen students are welcome to receive assistance in filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.
There is no admission fee or service fee; participants will be eligible to win $250 toward textbooks. “College Goal Sunday” is part of a nationwide initiative to assist prospective college students and returning college students. It will be held in the Learning Resource Center from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, February 27. The LRC is located along Loop 499 across from the new University Center under construction. Parking near the LRC is easily accessible by entering the campus at the intersection of Loop 499 and Oak Street.
Families or individuals should bring 2010 IRS tax documents, W-2 forms and other information about income and benefits received during 2010. The online FAFSA process often takes no more than 30 minutes to input for those with the required income tax data. Register in advance online at http://www.collegegoalsundaytexas.org/. Walk-ins are welcome!
Call the Financial Aid Office at 956.364.4330 or visit the "College Goal Sunday" Web site for details.
