Cinemark missing the obvious?

Not a valley theater but it looks cool!

Not a valley theater but it looks cool!

I love going to the movies. In the Harlingen area, there are only two theaters. Both are Cinemark. There is the one on the express way with the stadium seating and the dollar theater by Sun Valley Mall. When you go to the window to pay with a credit card, they make you show your ID. Why is that? It really makes no sense. Let me explain.

You can go inside and find the automated ticket machine. When you slid your card and buy a ticket, it does not ask you for an ID or a pin. You just buy the ticket. So, if I can go inside and get a ticket without and ID, why do I need one at the window?

Ok, so my next question is: Why do people stand in line for 10 minutes when they are going to use a card? Why not go inside and pay?

On a side note, I think Cinemark should offer an all day pass to people over 17. You pay like $12 and you get to go to all the movies you want until you leave. They may lose money on tickets. However, I think they would make up for it in snacks you would purchase while you were there. After all, from what I understand, Cinemark doesn’t really make money with ticket sell. It just helps pay the bills. The real money is the $4 they charge you for 10 cents of popcorn.

Stupid idea

That's a horrible idea. That would make the movie theater lose money easily.

The ratio of people buying tickets to concession is literally 2:1.

Half of the people who buy tickets buy concession so money would be "made up".
