Chicago family going to the valley

by Jr Rivera
(Chicago il)

My wife and I are heading south to the valley from Chicago to visit my family for the holidays. I've been to the valley several times before but never with my wife.

My main concern is what to do with do with so much spare time. It's been about 10 years since the last time I visited. From what I could remember there wasn't much to do. I'm sure so much has changed since then.

I don't want to bore my wife to death during our stay. The only plan I have is to maybe go to south padre island. But after that I'm clueless.

We'll be in the valley for 2 weeks in the city of mission. Is there a place that we must visit? A restaurant we have to eat in? A park we have to see? Please help!

Chicago Family Going To The Valley
by: Anonymous

I'm from the R.G.V. and I've traveled with my family everywhere all over the US. We alway enjoy our trips and don't worry about being bored. There are Malls, Flea Markets open everyday, Theater, etc. I've been to Chicago myself and the R.G.V. is no different than Chicago. Unless you are a boring man that can't come up with any ideas to entertain his wife. Stay in Chicago you impitant man.

You can look at the Attraction page for ideas, but you'll be hard pressed to find something you don't have in Chicago.

What makes the valley a place she may enjoy is the weather, lack of traffic, friendly people, and the pace of life.

The valley is a place to get away not a place to see the wonders of the world.
