Carinno's (in pharr)

by Foodie
(Mid-Valley)

I have been to this restaurant about three times. All during lunch. The service has been good on every visit. The drinks are served promptly and to order (i.e. light ice) During one visit I ordered an Italian soda, I found it too sweet, the server promptly offered to replace it with another drink: which I accepted. The appetizer, if that is what you call it, the bread and oil is also served promptly. The bathrooms are always clean. The food comes out fairly quickly: depending on what you order. One downfall was when a server did not give me the appropriate change. It was not a large amount, but it was disturbing to think that maybe the server felt it was right to keep a "tip." Count your change. I don't know yet if it is child friendly.

Hmmm

Do you mean Johnny Carino's? If so, we, too have enjoyed eating there. It's a nice change from Olive Garden which we love too.
I wanted to note that we have noticed this trend as well...the waiters/waitresses keeping the change (cents). And the reason is that they must keep dollars and cents on them when handing back change to the customer. They should always have cents/change with them, but most are not prepared. Once in a while though, you hit upon a waiter/waitress who is prepared.
