The The program is a cooperative effort by the private sector, the educational community, and the public sector. It enhances economic development by providing small businesses with management and technical assistance. Each center is staffed with qualified, certified business counselors and training coordinator, all under the supervision of seasoned management. All SBDC centers offer one commodity - excellence in business counseling and training! SBDC staff provides technical assistance through free, confidential counseling in various business areas such as business planning, financing, management, marketing, advertising, and record keeping. The business consulting services are conducted by professional counselors, who may evaluate an existing businessʹs operations, or a startup companyʹs business plan with fresh, yet experienced eyes. They work closely with clients to develop their business plans and loan proposals. Small Business Development Centers do not charge for their consulting services and can meet with clients at the main center, satellite offices, through its circuit rides, or at the business site. The SBDC also provides small business training programs to meet the needs of the individual or the community. The Center holds numerous workshops and seminars on business - related topics throughout the year and offers training in an incredible array of topics, ranging from pre - business planning to marketing, bookkeeping, accounting, and management. These seminars are designed for new and existing small business owners and managers to acquire the information that they need to make their business more successful.
